In good faith, I bought a gift card for my friend who had the baby shower today. Even though I am now really against baby showers before babies are born, I realize the rest of the world doesn't feel that way. Plus she came to my baby shower and got us a nice gift. So a gift card is kind of a compromise... that way if anything happens to the baby she can still use it. I hate thinking of the piles of baby things I sorted through after Kayla was gone. Some of them donated, some of them still taking up space in our closet. I did walk through the baby aisles at Target last night and it wasn't as hard as it used to be. If anything, it just reminded me of how dumb materialism is, how I was so worried about getting all the right STUFF for our baby, completely taking for granted that we would actually have a baby to take home to use all that stuff.
So now I'm filling out the card to put in her mailbox. What should I write?
