I have several items I treasure, because at the end of the day, I like having tangible things to honor and remember Kayla. But the outfit and quilt above are the only things that were truly hers. The gown was from the hospital, I remember they showed me about 4 outfits and I barely looked at them, just said "the white one." I couldn't process all of the things they were asking me to do (autopsy or not, which funeral home did we want to use, did we want to take pictures, etc etc) The quilt is also from the hospital. These are the only clothes she ever got to use or wear, so they are special.
Those are beautiful. So happy you have them. We were asked those same questions. I could barely process anything, so you're not alone there!
ReplyDeleteI love her outfit! It looks so soft. Our hospital had a very pretty white outfit, but the fabric was rough on the side that would touch her. I wanted everything to be soft and gentle for her. I am so glad that Kayla had such a beautiful, soft outfit.
