13, 14, 15, 16: signs, community, wave of light, release

Day 13: Signs.  I took this 6 weeks after Kayla died, on the weekend of her due date.  I like to notice hummingbirds now as a sign of  life and death.  This is a great link that explains their significance.  If I ever get a memorial tattoo, I will get a hummingbird.

Day 14:  Community.  Our hospital organizes several annual events each year, as well as a monthly support group.  It was bittersweet to take Livia to this year's remembrance ceremony.  But it's always nice to physically be in the same space with other people that understand

Day 15: Wave of Light.  We lit a candle on the 15th at 7 pm, just a simple candle on Kayla's shelf.
Day 16: Release.  This is my husband's balloon from Sunday's ceremony.  It brought tears to my eyes to see him think about and write a message to Kayla--he is a "man of few words" so to see him write something in permenent ink to our little girl was really special.  It's in Portuguese, but it says "Your heavenly Father will protect you, and we all love you."
